Outreach Recap: Strengthening Legacy Cities with Alan Mallach
Earlier this month, CURA hosted acclaimed author (and genuinely nice person) Alan Mallach. Mr. Mallach is a senior fellow at the Center for Community Progress in Washington DC. A city planner, advocate and writer, he is nationally known for his work on housing, economic development, and urban revitalization, and has worked with local governments and community organizations across the country to develop creative policies and strategies to rebuild their cities and neighborhoods.
Mr. Mallach's presentation focused on polarization in divided cities such as Boston, Pittsburg, and Baltimore. Mr. Mallach is truly a wealth of knowledge and provided many intricate details about cities all over the United States. Mr. Mallach provided information about the current COVID-19 pandemic and how it has changed cities and how cities can grow out of the pandemic to become more equitable for everyone.
