Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Education

  • M.S. Geographic Information Science, University at Buffalo
  • B.S. Geographic Information Science, China University of Petroleum (East China)

Zhongyu Zhou is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Geography at The Ohio State University. His research integrates agent-based modeling (ABM), and spatial data science to study human mobility in urban and emergency contexts. Before joining OSU, Zhongyu completed his M.S. in GIS at the University at Buffalo. Zhongyu’s broader interests lie in understanding how space–time constraints, emotional factors, and socio-economic inequalities shape human movement and decision-making. He aims to bridge computational modeling and geographic theory to better explain and visualize dynamic human–environment interactions.
