Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. Summer is a PhD Student at the Department of Geography at The Ohio State University. She currently serves as a Graduate Research Associate at the Center for Urban and Regional Analysis (CURA), where she performs 3D modeling of historical buildings, understanding the effects of highway constructions on vulnerable and marginalized neighborhoods inhabited by people of color. With a design-oriented background and research experience in architecture and sustainable design, Summer has expertise in urban studies and analytical methods for urban planning and design, using multi-modal, multi-temporal, and multi-source data. Her previous research has employed mixed-methods approaches, including qualitative, quantitative, and GIS techniques, to understand urban systems and investigate human-environment relationships, such as the impacts of the built environment on quality of life and accessibility.
