In the News: Will Intel traffic create Route 161 gridlock between Columbus and Licking County?

In February, CURA director, Harvey Miller was quoted in an article published by The Columbus Dispatch. The city of New Albany is conducting a study with the Ohio Department of Transportation to gather more information about the area's infrastructure needs. But everyone agrees the roads will look different when the factories start churning out computer chips in 2025.  Local officials hope the extra lanes will provide enough room for new commuters. 

In a region with few public transit options, transportation experts note the upcoming plants in Licking County will put more cars on the roads outside New Albany, potentially snarling traffic on the highways. Harvey went on to cite research that found adding lanes to highways always results in more drivers.
