In the News: Bringing Environmental Justice to Disadvantaged Communities
This week, an article was published in the Ohio State News about a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine consensus study report co-chaired by CURA Director, Harvey Miller. The report, titled Constructing Valid Geospatial Tools for Environmental Justice, offers recommendations for developing environmental justice tools that reflect the experiences of the communities they measure. In a personal note that was published as part of the final report, Dr. Miller underscored the importance of the work, writing, “We are at a hinge point in history, and the choices we make now will reverberate for generations.
