Event Recap: Urban Air Quality Panel Discussion
On September 6th, 2019 CURA hosted a panel discussion focused around the topic of Urban Air Quality. Our panelists included Dr. Kerry Ard of the School of Environmental and Natural Resources (OSU), Dr. Ayaz Hyder of the College of Public Health (OSU), Carolyn Watkins of the Ohio EPA, and Dr. Brooke White of Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC).
During the discussion our panelists were asked a series of questions, as they pertain to Urban Air Quality, by our Director Dr. Harvey Miller. Our panelists discussed how air quality is quickly becoming a global health crisis, especially in highly urbanized areas. Urban air pollution depends on many factors, ranging from meteorological conditions to geographic factors.
