CURA, the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center, and INetClimate are hosting Unpacking the 5th U.S. National Climate Assessment for the Midwest & Flash Talks Highlighting Climate Resilience Partnerships in Central Ohio.
Dr. Aaron Wilson will provide an overview of the Fifth National Climate Assessment, with particular emphasis on the ramifications for the Midwest United States. Following Dr. Wilson's presentation, Dr. Ryan Winston from The Ohio State University, Katie Devlin, MPA from IMPACT, and Jennie McAdams, MPH, REHS from Franklin County Public Health will deliver brief "flash talks" highlighting climate resilience partnerships in Central Ohio.
Dr. Winston will deliver a flash talk titled, "Green infrastructure for climate resilience in the Midwest context: Blueprint Columbus." The flash talk will focus on recent Blueprint Columbus green infrastructure retrofits in communities across the city. Katie Devlin will discuss Climate Resilience Partnerships in Central Ohio and the “Net Zero Heroes." Finally, Jennie McAdams will offer a flash talk on the public health impacts of the changing climate.
