Join us and leaders from the North Texas Toll Authority (NTAA) and the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission to discuss their views on the future of surface transportation. Through presentation and conversation, these industry experts will share the diverse education and skillsets necessary to run a successful transportation agency serving tens of millions of customers annually.CURA and the Department of Geography will provide lunch for attendees.Ferzan Ahmed, P.E. was appointed by the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission as Executive Director on Feb. 25, 2019. Ferzan oversees more than 850 employees and an annual budget of more than $350 million in pursuit of his objective to increase safety, improve the quality of work life, enrich the customer experience, sustain strong financial stewardship, and maintain excellent system conditions. Previously, Ahmed has served as vice president/Ohio practice leader of AECOM, county administrator for Delaware County, and several positions within the Ohio Department of Transportation District Six including deputy director, acting administrator, project manager, project engineer, and area engineer.James Hofmann is the Executive Director/CEO for NTTA, providing leadership to carry out policies established by the NTTA Board of Directors and to direct staff in carrying out the Authority’s mission. Hofmann is active in the toll industry, serving as a member of the IBTTA Board of Directors, chairman of the IBTTA Emerging Technologies Committee, immediate past chair of the Central US interoperability steering committee and as a key contributor to the industry’s advancement towards national interoperability through the integration of regional hubs. Additionally, Hofmann served on the OmniAir Consortium’s Board of Directors from 2013-2018 with stints as both treasurer and vice chairman. He earned a bachelor’s degree in science from Texas A&M University in 1995 and received a master’s degree in science from the University of Utah in 1999.Jeffrey Daily, P.E. joined NTTA in 2021 as the Assistant Executive Director of Operations. He leads the Contact Center and Collections, Information Technology, Customer Care and Human Resources departments to provide exceptional services to NTTA’s customers and staff. Dailey has more than 35 years of public and private sector executive management experience. This includes transportation and other infrastructure, such as, toll highway/managed lanes, Public/Private Partnerships, toll and facility operations/maintenance, information technology, toll collection, and innovation/emerging mobility technologies. Over the course of his career, Dailey has delivered more than $20 billion in infrastructure improvements and has a track record of on-time and within-budget delivery.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer in eight states and is the recipient of numerous industry awards.
