SAD 2020 | Spatial Analytics + Data Seminar Series
An international showcase to the best scholarship involving geography and data co-sponsored by Newcastle University, University of Bristol and the Alan Turing Institute.
From segregation and social networks to machine learning and movement, the Spatial Analytics + Data seminar series is a place for dialogue among scholars united by interest in geographic data & spatial analysis, as well as a platform for cutting-edge methods and thinking in spatial social science.
The seminars feature speakers from a wide variety of academic backgrounds & career stages, and are held nearly every week on Tuesday, 1500 UTC throughout the 2020-2021 academic year.

About the Launch Event
This panel brings together expertise from a variety of perspectives for a conversation on post-pandemic cities--housing markets, employment, transportation, and more are all on the table for discussion.
Panellists
Dan Immergluck, Georgia State University, Urban Studies Institute
Dan Immergluck is a Professor at the Urban Studies Institute at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Immergluck has authored four books, over 60 articles, and many chapters and policy reports on housing, neighborhood change, real estate finance, and community development.
Charlotta Mellander, Jönköping University, Economics
Charlotta Mellander is a professor of economics at Jönköping International Business School. Her publication list includes a broad variety of topics, but the majority of her work focuses on the role of geography for different socio-economic outcomes.
Harvey Miller, Ohio State University, Department of Geography / Center for Urban and Regional Analysis
Harvey Miller is the Bob and Mary Reusche Chair in Geographic Information Science, Director of the Center for Urban and Regional Analysis (CURA) and Professor in the Department of Geography at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, USA. His research interests focus on sustainable transportation, mobility analytics and data-driven urban science to support livable, equitable and resilient communities.
Max Nathan, UCL, Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA)
Max Nathan is Associate Professor in Applied Urban Sciences at UCL, and an Associate at CEP. He is an economic geographer with a background in public policy. His research focuses on innovation systems and clusters, the economics of diversity, and public policy for cities. Prior to academia he co-founded the Centre for Cities think tank, and spent over a decade in policy research, consultancy and government.
