Nationwide Children’s envisions a future where every child, regardless of background, neighborhood or circumstance, has the opportunity to thrive and reach their fullest potential. Nationwide Children’s population health strategy emphasizes place-based, data-driven action to identify community needs, measure progress, and direct investments where they can have the greatest impact. A key example is its Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families (HNHF), Nationwide Children's nationally recognized neighborhood revitalization initiative. HNHF advances community health through integrated investments in affordable housing, economic development, education, workforce development, health and wellness and community engagement within historically disinvested neighborhoods that experience some of the region's greatest health and socioeconomic challenges. By addressing the conditions in which children and families live, learn, work and play, HNHF demonstrates how coordinated, cross-sector investments can improve both community well-being and child health outcomes.
Nick Jones is the Vice President for Community Wellness at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Nick is responsible for strategy development, department leadership, budgeting, resource gathering and overall program performance and measurement. During his time at Nationwide Children’s, Nick has partnered to bring in over $15 million to support the expansion of Nationwide Children’s population health initiatives. Prior to joining Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Nick held direct service and senior leaderships roles in several Columbus-based non-profit organizations for 15+ years. Nick holds an MBA and JD, and he resides in in Columbus, Ohio with his wife and son.
