CURA is pleased to join the Humanities Institute to bring Dr. LaVaughn Henry from the Cleveland Federal Reserve to campus on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. He will be speaking about the Federal Reserve's full-employment mandate and how the mandate informs household and consumer debt.

Dr. Henry is Vice President and senior regional officer of the Cincinnati Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Dr. Henry has worked for the Budget Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the FDIC’s Resolution Trust Corporation, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he led consulting engagements with the Federal Housing Administration.

The Debt Burden is a semester-long series of lectures, discussions, and workshops exploring the implications of current levels of private and public debt. The series is sponsored by the Humanities Institute as part of this year’s COMPAS (Conversations in Morality, Politics and Society) theme Public/Private.  Dr. Henry’s visit was organized by the Humanities Institute and is co-sponsored by the Glenn School and CURA.
