This informal conversation with be an opportunity to learn more about the plans the City of Columbus has for SCOS, how the SCOS can benefit community partners, and how we all can ensure that the information the system produces can be used to benefit everyone in Columbus. The event is free to attend and the sponsors, Transit Columbus and Central Ohio APA will be providing free pizza and a drink ticket for each guest. Council President Hardin will be joined by:Jodie Bare, Deputy Program Manager for Smart ColumbusMicheal Carroll, Chief Information Officer for the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA)Harvey Miller, Director of the Center for Urban and Regional Analysis (CURA) at Ohio StateMichael Stevens, Chief Innovation Officer for the City of Columbus About the Smart Columbus Operating System (SCOS) [FROM SMART COLUMBUS]The SCOS is envisioned as a web-based, dynamic, governed data delivery platform at the heart of the Smart Columbus system. It will ingest and disseminate data while providing access to data services from multiple sources and tenants, including the planned Smart Columbus technologies, traditional transportation data and data from other community partners, such as food pantries and medical services. The SCOS will be scalable and demonstrate the potential for serving city and private sector needs well beyond the life of the Smart City Challenge award period.
